Not only does this book make it simple to understand what, how and why to implement multi generational living changes- it is beautiful, moving, and insightful. I wish our family had this book when my grandparents were still around. However there is so much wisdom to be absorbed from Hive in how I relate to my parents and this helps me understand and have more patience for their different generation perspectives. And look forward to how I can be a better caretaker for them in the years to come. As if that's not enough, Lisa Cini has written a book that shares her family's story and multi-generational living experience so honestly, that you can't help that want to cheer for her and her family and be grateful for her bravery in sharing their experience.
When my husband's parents moved in to our home 3 years ago because of the failing health his 95 year old mother, I had no idea that his father would remain living with us after her passing. He is now 97 and many of the insights and ideas that Lisa so eloquently outlines in her book have been extremely valuable. Although we are thankfully not dealing with Alzheimer's, we struggle with major hearing impairment. Her book is still very relevant and I recommend to any family that wishes to try multigenerational living. It has been difficult at times, but I wouldn't change it for the world!
What a warm and wonderful book! After caring for my mother who had dementia, I can truly relate to much of what Lisa says. I only wish I had had this resource years ago when mom's symptoms had first started.
This book is so important, I wish I'd had it years ago. My mother suffered with Parkinson's and Dementia before she passed. As a family we made good choices but wish we'd had some of the tools Lisa mentions sooner. This book give read advice and wisdom on how to deal as a family when parents age and begin to need careful but respectful care, and help them remain independent, loved and active for as long as possible.
Engaging and informative. Very pertinent for all who are aging and or caring for someone who has.
This book provides the "how to" live multi-generationally and tips for caring for dementia patients in the home environment with charm, humor and honesty.
Honest and fun read about multi generational living... Great tips and tricks for how to maximize quality of life for people with dementia!
Such an awesome book even if you aren't yet considering multi-generational living. Perfectly written and captures the good, bad and ugly for readers. More people should be doing this!
